Jesus Christ gave His disciples a mission, and we all share in that mission by nature of our Baptism. In our last event we broke open what this missionary calling means for us. This mission is evangelization; to evangelize simply means to share our faith in Christ and the Gospel with others by our words and actions.

This is no easy task; and after the last talk some of you may be wondering how to live up to it. Jesus asks us to go everywhere – not just places that are comfortable and we know we will be accepted, but everywhere. We may feel alone, but we must remember that Jesus sent the Holy Spirit to be with us as we go forward to share the Gospel of Christ.

The gifts and presence of the Holy Spirit are going to be strengthened in you through the Sacrament of Confirmation. Therefore, you will be bound up more intensely in the Churches mission of evangelization. Last event we discussed the “why” of this mission – this event we are going to talk about “how” we enact that mission in our personal lives.
